Flash Inspections in the Cleaning Sector
In December 2025, inspection services will carry out flash inspections in the cleaning sector.

Public Holidays
On 25 December, we celebrate Christmas, one of the ten official public holidays in Belgium. On this day, both banks and our Securex offices will be closed. Please keep this in mind for urgent payments.
26 December is not a statutory public holiday, but in some sectors, it is given as an additional day off. Banks will also be closed on that day.

To find out if there is a conventional public holiday in your sector, it is best to check the Joint Committees. Select your joint committee and go to 'Holidays and extralegal leave > Extralegal leave > Cultural leave'.
Our tip: Don’t forget to establish the replacement public holidays for 2026. Legally, you must arrange this before 15 December 2025.

Year-End Bonuses
A year-end bonus, also known as a "thirteenth month," is a bonus that employers pay to their employees at the end of the year. Whether you are entitled to a year-end bonus or thirteenth month and how the bonus is calculated depends on the sector or company you work for.

Securex will calculate the year-end bonus for you during the same period as last year. If you have recently registered with our social secretariat or if a specific date has already been set, we will adhere to the agreed timeline. If you wish to pay a higher year-end bonus than the amount specified by your sector, or if you want to give a year-end bonus when your sector does not provide one, please inform us in advance at myHR@securex.be.
E-invoicing is on the horizon
The deadline is approaching: from 1 January 2026, all invoices between VAT liable companies in Belgium must be exchanged electronically.

On 23 December, the new index figures will be known.
Many companies that have annual indexing in January, including employers in joint committee 200, have been eager to know what the exact index percentage will be.
The index forecast in JC 200 is currently 2.14%.

Check if the training days have been utilized and plan the training for 2026
Check if the training days for this year have been used and plan ahead for 2026. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the Federal Learning Account, the training obligation remains: every full-time employee is entitled to at least 5 training days per year in companies with 10 or more employees.
