From Summer Time to Winter Time
On the night of Saturday, October 25 to Sunday, October 26, we will turn the clock back by one hour: three o'clock will become two o'clock. This change may affect the pay of employees working in shifts. This is governed by collective agreement no. 30 of the National Labour Council dated March 28, 1977.

New Mileage Allowance
If your employees use their own car, motorcycle, or moped for work-related travel, you can or must reimburse their costs with a mileage allowance. Since 2022, this allowance is recalculated and adjusted quarterly based on fuel prices.
For the period from October 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, the mileage allowance is set at € 0.4312 per kilometre.

Remember the Annual Action Plan for Well-being at Work
The annual action plan (AAP) is an important document in your well-being policy. In this plan, you outline the specific actions you will take in the coming year to eliminate or reduce risks in your company.
A draft of this action plan for the next year must be submitted for advice before November 1 to the Committee for Prevention and Well-being at Work.

Flash Inspections in the Meat Sector
In October 2025, inspection services will carry out flash inspections in the meat sector.

Have all Holiday Days Been Scheduled Yet?
You must ensure that your employees take all their statutory holiday days before December 31. If you do not, you risk a fine of up to €4,000 per violation.
Check now how many holiday days your employees have left and encourage them to schedule and take these before December 31.

The Entry/Exit System (EES) Comes into Force
From October 12, 2025, Europe will digitally register who enters and exits.
Non-EU citizens who stay briefly (maximum 90 days over 180 days) will be scanned using biometrics.
The system will apply in 29 countries and will be fully operational by April 10, 2026.
