Increased Fines in Social Criminal Law
From February 1, 2026, fines in social criminal law will increase, as the multipliers, which is the multiplication factor for these fines, will rise from 8 to 10.
For you as an employer, this means that violations of labour law will now be more expensive and that precise compliance with all social legal obligations becomes even more important.

Spot Checks in the Construction Sector
In 2026, spot checks will also be conducted. In March, the construction sector will be the focus. A spot check is an announced inspection of social legislation and labour regulations, aimed at providing information and prevention. However, in the case of serious violations, the inspection services will take decisive action, and a report may be drawn up. If your labour regulations are not up-to-date or if you are unsure whether you are applying all wage and labour conditions correctly, please contact your legal advisor at myHR@securex.be.
Our tip: in our free Webinar on spot checks in the construction sector, we will gladly tell you more about what is being checked and what to pay attention to.
When? Thursday February 5 from 12:00 – 12:45

Adjustment of Transport Costs
In February, the prices of train tickets (NMBS) will increase. The NMBS will index the rates of the tickets by 2.14%, and those of the subscriptions by 2.60%. If your employees use public transport (train, tram, bus, metro, waterbus), you as an employer are required to contribute to the travel costs. Whether this increase affects the contribution to your employees' transport costs depends on the agreements made within your company or sector.

Trillium
Between February 1 and March 10, the RSZ will provide most employers with an annual overview of the RSZ reductions they enjoyed during the past year. This overview is called Trillium.
You must communicate this information to the works council or trade union delegation within one month of receipt. If you do not have either body, the document must be accessible at the location where your labour regulations can also be consulted. The Trillium document is sent by the RSZ to your e-Box Enterprise. Remember to retrieve the document from there yourself.
