This plan must be submitted for advice to the Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work (CPPW), or if that is not possible, to the trade union delegation or through the direct participation of workers, before 1 November 2026.
The annual action plan (AAP) is the practical implementation of your global prevention plan (GPP). Both documents are part of the dynamic risk management system (DRMS).
- The global prevention plan (GPP) shows the results of your risk analysis and sets out all the prevention measures and actions you plan to take over a period of five years.
- The annual action plan (AAP) puts into practice the directions set in the GPP. It details the priority objectives and the specific actions to be carried out during the coming year.
What must your AAP include?
The annual action plan must specify:
- the priority objectives for the next year,
- the means and methods to achieve these objectives,
- the tasks, resources and responsibilities of all parties involved.
When developing this plan, it is important to base it on the global prevention plan (GPP) and also consider the lessons learned from the current year. We also recommend reviewing:
- the current annual action plan (2026): have all objectives been met? If not, what is the reason? Are additional measures needed to achieve them?
- work accidents, incidents and first aid provided (first aid register) during the year: this analysis may lead to updating the risk inventory and evaluation, as well as the global prevention plan,
- when updating, also consider risks related to electricity, fire prevention, etc.,
- reports from workplace visits,
- audits carried out within the company (e.g. VCA certification)
The AAP is a living document; it can be changed during the year to take into account, for example, changes in working conditions, accidents that have occurred, recommendations made by the committee, and so on.
Who is responsible for the AAP?
As an employer, you prepare the annual action plan in consultation with members of the hierarchical line and with the prevention and protection services at work.
