Why must you act before 1 July 2026?
As part of the reform of employment aids in Wallonia, several current schemes will be abolished from 1 July 2026 and replaced by a new single premium: Incitant Job Plus.
The aim is to simplify the system of employment aids. However, this simplification means that several schemes currently available to employers will disappear.
If you are thinking of using one of these schemes or want to extend an aid already granted, it is important to act quickly.
Which schemes are affected?
Several Walloon employment aids will disappear to make way for a single incentive. The decree concerns:
- Impulsion -25 years
- Impulsion 12 months+
- Impulsion 55 years+ / 57 years+
- SESAM
- SINE
- Tremplin 24 months+
However, the deadline of 1 July 2026 does not apply in the same way to all schemes.
For some aids, such as SESAM or Tremplin 24 months+, the date of submission of the request is the key factor.
For others, such as the Impulsion aids or SINE, it is mainly the date of engagement that must be before the new system starts.
Example
Do you already benefit from a SESAM plan of one or two years based on a request submitted before 1 January 2026? You can still ask for an extension or an enlargement of your aid, provided you submit your request no later than 30 June 2026. After this date, no new SESAM requests will be accepted.
What must you do in practice?
As an employer, it is important to check without delay:
- Whether you still need to submit a request
- Whether your file needs to be completed before the deadline
- Whether an extension or enlargement is still possible
- Whether the relevant date is that of the request or that of the engagement
The decree includes transitional rules: legal situations arising before 1 July 2026 and, depending on the scheme, requests submitted before this date will continue to have effect until 31 December 2029 at the latest.
