Step 1. Define your vision
We turn your business inside out during a technical visit. We check everything: each work station, each warehouse and every nook and cranny of your buildings and vehicles. So our experts know exactly which chemical dangers are lurking in your company and how you deal with them today. With that information in hand we draw up an action plan.
Step 2. Involve your employees
Your fight against chemical agents will have a lot of consequences for your employees. They have to comply with new requirements, change bad habits, possibly wear protective clothing... Do you want to succeed in making your workplace safer? Then you have to involve these employees in your plans.
During a kick-off meeting we will explain the reasons and modalities of your welfare project to your managers. Are they convinced of its utility? Then they will play a key role in motivating your other employees. Because your project has more of a chance of success if everybody is on board.
Step 3. Roll out your action plan

Module 1: audit
Our experts will map all the chemical agents and their risks in detail. The guideline for their survey is the scientific guide, NBN-EN 689 ‘Werkplaatsatmosferen – Leidraad voor het evalueren van de blootstelling aan chemische agentia bij inademing voor vergelijking met grenswaarden en meetstrategie’ (Workplace atmospheres – Guidance for evaluating inhalation exposure to chemical agents for comparing limit values and measurement strategy).
- Initial site study. We describe all the hazardous properties of all products and attribute a risk score to each one of them.
- Quantitative survey of exposure to substances with a high risk score. We make an assessment of exposure in your company and check where it is higher or lower than the safe limit value.
- Air sampling of the environment where our assessment may provide a decisive answer as to safe exposure. Securex proposes a measurement strategy and takes air samples in your company. An approved laboratory will analyse the samples.
- Safety checklist. We examine how the chemicals are stored and checked. We also examine the quality of the safety regulations and check whether they are duly observed.
Result: You know exactly what the status of chemical agents is in your company. Where do they constitute a risk, how do you deal with them today, what are the issues in your current approach ... This analysis forms the basis for concrete action.
Module 2: four prevention measures
Depending on the audit results we propose concrete measures to eliminate the risk. We intervene simultaneously in four areas:
- Collective protection measures. We propose a solution to reduce the general impact of chemicals through better ventilation, extraction at the source, alternative products with less harmful fumes, etc.
- Personal protection. We optimise safety clothing and tools for the best balance between safety and comfort. Naturally we will assist you in your purchases and help you draw up instructions.
- Raising awareness and training. We point out the dangers of the chemicals used at work to your employees, teach them safe and proper behaviour, and motivate executives to keep a close watch.
- Safety instructions cards. We draw up a clear and comprehensive sheet for each product. It states all the dangers and points to the protection products, the pesticides, the storage system and the correct action to take in case of a leak.

Module 3: continuous evaluation
Naturally you wish to maintain safety in your company. That is why we regularly return for periodic safety checks, repeat measurements, additional checks on the effectiveness of protective equipment, etc.
