Biological agents
Biological agents are micro-organisms (bacteria, viruses, etc.), which can be present in the workplace and cause illnesses there. This does not refer to normal infective diseases, as a result of contact with an infected colleague, such as a viral cold or the flu. Rather, we are thinking of specific professional activities, whereby the danger of being exposed to these micro organisms is a lot higher (e.g., care sector), as well as infrastructures which are beneficial to the development of sources of infection (e.g., legionnaire's disease).
We try to keep these invisible health risks under control with a risk analysis and a control plan.

Combating legionnaire’s disease
Legionella can cause a lung infection. It develops in water in temperatures ranging between 20°C and 60°C. The bacteria can be found in sanitary installations (showers, etc.), climate control and cooling systems (air conditioning, industrial cooling circuits, etc.). Collective systems run the highest risk.
We can carry out a thorough risk analysis based on the water network’s plans. We review taps and pipes, water temperature, carry out sample analyses, etc.
Does this analysis reveal a risk of infection? Then we draw up a control plan which includes:
- Administrative and technical details regarding the water supply;
- The outcome of the risk analysis;
- A list of measures (corrective and preventative);
- A log to follow up the introduction of the measures.
Result: What’s more, preventative measures will ensure that the risk remains under control.
Preventing the spread of an MRSA contamination
