Working longer, working better

Maintain the good health of your experienced employees

There is no doubt about it: the average age of your workers is on the increase. You have no doubts whatsoever about the added value that they contribute thanks to their experience. But the numbers do not lie: scientific research shows that if you not pay sufficient “preventative” attention to your workers” health then there is a real risk that productivity and motivation suffer among workers aged 45 or older. So we need to intervene.

There is only way to do this: by remaining vigilant. Our three-stage scientific plan optimises the performance of your experienced workers. Do not hesitate to ask us to help you with any issues you may have or ask advice from our experts on specific subjects.

Take advantage of government grants

The Federal Government reimburses a large part of your investment. Provided that you establish an action plan under the rules of the Professional Experience Fund.

Four direct benefits

  • Your experienced employees will stay healthy, fit and motivated longer.
  • Absenteeism and accidents at work will decrease.
  • A culture of healthy and safe work behaviour exists in your company.
  • The Government will pay back a large part of your investment.

Step 1. Define your vision

We do not launch ourselves heedlessly into your project. We study the factors that are present in your company and which may have an adverse effect on the health of your (older) workers. To this end we establish a measure zero: we examine the physical and mental burden of your employees.
The results will indicate precisely which risks negatively affect the availability of your older workers and the jobs involved. This measure zero is the starting point of a plan in different stages.

Step 2. Involve your workers

Your preventative health policy for older workers needs a strong foundation to succeed. We therefore inform all of your employees about your project but we also ask them to cooperate.
In order to increase the participation of “all” of your workers a consultation and information session is scheduled before the project is effectively implemented. The workers thus find out more about the project and their personal role.
Consensus is essential and will increase your project’s chance of success.

Step 3. Implement your action plan

Securex will be by your side every step of the way. We have developed four modules that are perfectly complementary and which make up an effective weapon against the health risks related to aging. All you need to do is choose which aspects you want to entrust to our experts.

Module 1: Securex offers 2 options: a risk analysis by means of a science survey (RAGOW) or a participatory risk analysis

We visualise the burden generated by your workstations thanks to the DEPARIS method. This method has been approved by the Professional Experience Fund and our experts have mastered it perfectly. One crucial requirement: the participation of your employees. They know their job better than anyone and are thus best placed to make suggestions for improvements on (often invisible) practical details.

Module 2: action plan The action plan, bases on the analysis, is submitted to management. We then jointly set priorities for action. A concrete action plan is established in collaboration with HR and your prevention adviser. Among others we will ensure that your action plan complies with the conditions for obtaining subsidies from the Professional Experience Fund.

Module 3: your action plan in practice
Our experts will visit your workplace with the points for improvement in mind. Once there they will not only combat the symptoms but above all work on bringing about a behavioural change.

  • From a medical perspective: the role of the occupational physician is vital. S/he is aware of the health of your (older) workers. In close collaboration with the occupational physician and the HR Department the H&S experts will try to devise a credible and achievable change in the workplace and, possibly, a job that is better suited to (older) employees in your company. All this will always be based on the premise of the most efficient assignment possible of the worker in question.
  • From a technical perspective: our experts introduce appropriate systems, write instructions and manuals, teach the best techniques and indicate the utility and correct use of support tools. This will help keep your workers in shape but also ensure that they stay in the job market longer.
  • From a behavioural perspective: we help put together the chain of command required to implement these behavioural changes. It will receive the necessary support and tools to show workers how to perform their daily tasks more easily. You will thus create a culture of safe and sustainable behaviour in the workplace. A guarantee for ensuring good health.

Module 4: follow-up and evaluation
Permanent monitoring and evaluation ensure a lasting result. Long-term solutions allow for better monitoring and are less easily forgotten. It is thus essential to provide a framework for your project in order to objectively assess the improvements and the remaining actions to be undertaken. We draw up a status quo of these developments by means of detailed reports and we also indicate the specific corrective actions that need to be undertaken.

Take advantage of government grants

The Professional Experience Funds of the FPS Employment, Labour and Social Dialogue will fund your projects that are aimed at keeping (experienced) workers in the market longer and in good health. You can use these grants to analyse your employees and their workstations and to implement your improvement projects. Next to this, we will establish your action plan so that you can make the most of this aid.
