Seven formalities for all starters

Each starter has to comply with a number of obligations. Securex certified company locket go-Start will outline them for you.

Open a professional debit account

You choose the financial institution of your choice and open an account for the daily transactions of your company. The account is in your name (for a business with a sole proprietor) or in the name of the company.

Request your permits

Are you intending to peddle your wares? Then you will require a peddler’s permit from your municipality.
And anyone wishing to sell or cut meat for human consumption, requires a permit to be a butcher/meat products maker, issued by the FPS Economy, SMEs, independent professions and Energy.
The go-Start company docket will gladly request these permits for you.

Register your company with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE)

In order to correctly submit your request with the CBE, you will need the following data:

  • Account number of your professional debit account and name of the bank;
  • Proof of your entrepreneurial skills;
  • Possible prior permits;
  • Description of the activities you wish to carry out;
  • Name of your company;
  • National register number;
  • Provisional company number; allocated by the registry.

In exchange for the registration of your company, every company will receive its own unique company number. You will need to mention it on all commercial documents henceforth (invoices, letters, orders, etc.).
The go-Start company docket will immediately take care of your registration in the CBE.

Activate your VAT number

Are you practising an activity that is subject to VAT? Then you will need to notify your VAT control office, with an application relating to the commencement of activities (form 604A). Choose the requisite VAT system and your fiscal residence. Ask your bookkeeper for advice when filling out the form.

Or leave the activation of your VAT number to your go-Start company docket.

Request additional permits

Additional permits are mainly required in the transport and construction industry. You need to register as a contractor before commencing your activities. Or you will need a permit to transport foodstuffs.

Join a social insurance fund.

You need to take care of your affiliation with a social insurance fund within ninety days of starting your business. Make your life easy: Your go-Start adviser will gladly refer you to Securex Integrity, Securex's social insurance fund.

Join a health insurance fund

Have you already joined a health insurance fund? Then all you need to do is switch your status to self-employed. Otherwise we can take care of your new registration in no time at all.
