The Vitality, Performance & Excellence model

Why do vitality, performance and excellence (VPE) matter?

Your business relies on its employees in order to do well. You want to have energetic people who are seldom absent and who plunge into their work with zest. You also want them to deliver their best performance and grow into excellent employees who are enterprising, creative and willing to change, and who actively think with you about improvements.
In short: your company needs VPE employees. And thus it is best to examine how you can improve their scores on those three points.

How do we test the VPE values of your employees?

We investigate the vitality, performance and excellence of your staff from two angles. We look first at the work and organisation features  (the drivers), such as job content and working conditions, which have a positive or negative impact on VPE. We then directly evaluate the VPE level of your employees (the outcomes). This dual-angle approach enables us to formulate specific policy proposals.
Your employees will answer questions in two categories. From this, we obtain their individual score and that of your company on a number of important Key Performance Indicators (KPI):

  • Work and organisation features: how do your employees experience your company and the context in which they work each day? We ask them specific questions about:

    • Job content
    • Working conditions
    • Empowerment
    • Career
    • Work intensity
    • Workload
    • Compensation and benefits
    • Values and culture
    • Change management
    • Management
    • Teamwork and colleagues
    • Information provision

  • Vitality: are your employees healthy and strong? Is their work capacity as great as it could be? We specifically assess the following:

    • Stress
    • Working capacity
    • Life style
    • Energy
    • Performance: are your employees sufficiently motivated, committed and satisfied to deliver maximum performance? We evaluate:
    • Productivity
    • Commitment
    • Satisfaction
    • Motivation

  • Excellence: do your employees independently raise the overall performance level of your business? We assess:

    • Openness to change
    • Innovation
    • Sense of enterprise

What results can you expect?

Each KPI from the study is assigned a unique place in the impact diagram. This will help you identify the work and organisational characteristics that positively or adversely affect vitality, performance and excellence. The links between these three outcomes will also be clearly understandable. In addition, you will also understand the turnover plans of your employees. We do this by using the ZebraZone turnover predictor. This predicts to what extent your organisation may lose employees in the short term. After our study, our consultants will provide you with policy-supportive advice. They will clarify the figures and tables, and provide you with instructions on how to increase the VPE values of your employees.

What is the scientific basis of our VPE model?

The VPE model combines traditional indicators such as employee satisfaction and stress with a variety of new insights about vitality, performance and excellence. We also include KPIs such as working capacity, life style, openness to change and innovation in the survey.

Securex developed the VPE model in collaboration with professors, HR managers, HR consultants and industrial psychologists. It takes into account the latest scientific literature and uses an extensive international database of benchmark data to compare your results.

The VPE model is innovative and economical, thanks to the modular system. The model comprises three submodels - vitality, performance and excellence, each with a set of work and organisational characteristics. Each sub-model is in itself a full measurement model. Depending on your specific needs, you may either opt for the entire VPE model or for various combinations of submodels. Each of these combinations can be extended or restricted over several measurements.
