The stress model

Why study the stress within your organisation?

You probably know stress first-hand: you find it emotionally or physically problematic because you are struggling with a lack of trust from your manager, a heavy workload, a poor work environment, etc. Stress brings down your performance. The same happens to your colleagues. And that adversely affects your company’s bottom line.

In short: You want to find out how to reduce stress at work. So that your employees perform optimally more often and for longer periods.

How do we investigate stress in your organisation?

We investigate how your employees experience stress and stress factors in the workplace. We use two approaches in this connection. We shall first examine stressors and energy sources: elements that affect stress negatively or positively. We then directly assess the stress level of your employees. The dual view helps us formulate specific policy proposals.
We obtain the score of your company on a number of important Key Performance Indicators (KPI) based on the answers given by your employees.

  • Stressors: what factors lead to greater stress amongst your employees?

    • Work environment
    • Work intensity
    • Workload
    • Deviant workplace behaviour
    • Change management
  • Energy sources: what are the factors that reduce stress amongst your employees?

    • Job and organisation
    • Direct superior
    • Colleagues
    • Team
    • Autonomy
    • Career
  • Strain: how does stress manifest itself in your employee? What symptoms does he have?

    • Subjective perception
    • Emotions
    • Health
    • Achievements

What results can you expect?

Each KPI from the study is assigned a unique place in the impact diagram. This will familiarise you with the stressors and energy sources that have the greatest impact on stress amongst your employees, so that you can draw up a targeted action plan.

After our study, our consultants will provide you with policy-supportive advice. They will clarify the figures and tables, and provide you with instructions on how to reduce the stress of your employees.

What is the scientific basis of our stress model?

The stress model is based on insights from the JDC model (job-demand-control) and the JDR model (job-demands-resources) or WEB model (Work Stressors, Energy Sources and Burnout). It was developed by Securex in collaboration with professors, HR managers, HR consultants, prevention advisers, company doctors and specialists in the field of working conditions. It takes into account the latest scientific literature and uses an extensive international database of benchmark data to compare your results.
