An effective and strong leader raises the level of vitality, motivation, commitment, willingness to change and the enterprising spirit amongst your employees. And these qualities are indispensable to your business. Since they improve your bottom line and strengthen your business.
In short: your company needs strong leaders. And it is best for you therefore to examine the qualities of your current management.
The leadership model only takes into account your employees’ evaluation of certain qualities of their manager. That makes sense: after all, they have first-hand experience of their leadership qualities.
Two central questions characterise the study. We obtain the score of your manager on several Key Performance Indicators (KPI), based on the answers given by your employees.
- Is your manager an effective leader? We examine how your manager really behaves in the workplace. We study his methods and evaluate whether he presents the behavioural characteristics of a strong leader.
- Is he a convincing leader?
Does he act as a role model and does he have a powerful presence? What are his moral standards and is he a positive role model for his team? Does he inspire pride, confidence and respect?
- Is he an inspiring leader?
Does he have a clear vision of the future? Does he set attractive common goals and does he succeed in motivating his teams to forge onward with commitment?
- Is he an encouraging leader?
Does he encourage his employees and does he challenge them? Does he draw them out of their comfort zone and make them think critically about their role? Does he inspire his teams to display creativity and inventiveness?
- Does he have a coaching leadership style?
Does he give a lot of individual attention and personal advice? Does your manager treat his employees as individuals with their own needs and need for support?
- Does he give direction?
Does he assign tasks and responsibilities clearly? Does he lay down rewards and does he motivate his teams to achieve their goals? Does he provide positive feedback?
- Are you satisfied with your manager? We examine how your employees evaluate the approach, actions and style of your manager. This study provides a much-needed context for the answers to the questions concerning effective leadership above.
After our study, you shall receive clear reports and graphics with the results and policy-supportive advice. They immediately show you where the shoe pinches, and how you can intervene. Moreover, our consultants would be happy to clarify the figures and tables and if so required, assist in formulating an action plan.
Our leadership model is based on the principles of transactional and transformational leadership. These are now generally accepted as basic characteristics of strong leaders.
Top managers excel in both categories and thus bring out the best in their teams and employees. Briefly, our study provides an answer to two questions:
- Does your manager reward your employees sufficiently for good performance, and does he adequately point out undesirable behaviour (does he provide transactional leadership)?
- Does your manager have the charisma and motivational skills to alter the behaviour of your employees positively and sustainably (can he provide transformational leadership)?
Securex developed the motivation model in collaboration with professors, HR managers, HR consultants, industrial psychologists and statisticians. It takes into account the latest literature on leadership and HR, and uses an extensive international database of benchmark data to compare your results.
