In order to stay competitive and maintain their performance, several companies are very happy to invest in their human capital by offering their employees the chance to attend training courses. But did you know that training vouchers exist, partly financed by the Walloon Region and the Flemish Region?
All companies subject to VAT created in the form of a commercial company, which employ less than 250 workers and have their head office in the Walloon Region (with the exception of the German-speaking community) (http://www.emploi.wallonie.be/) can purchase training vouchers from Sodexho which cost 15 euros. Company managers as well as active companies registered with the INASTI as self-employed in terms of their main activity can also use these vouchers.
Training vouchers have a nominal value of 30 euros and are valid for one hour of training per worker. A company is entitled to a maximum of 400 vouchers per calendar year. These vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other form of financial support from the Walloon Region for the same training course.
In order to benefit from this advantage, workers must be bound by an employment contract and employed on an operational site established in the Walloon Region. In addition, the training course must be delivered during normal working hours.
Almost all companies (irrespective of their size) and professionals established in Flanders can take advantage of this measure. Each member of the company, regardless of the position they hold, can take part in the training course.
The training voucher has a value of 30 euros. Half of this amount is paid by the company and the other half by the Flemish government. Each calendar year, a company may purchase 200 training vouchers which must be used within the next twelve months for training courses with an authorised operator. Training vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other form of public assistance. (European Union, federal, regional or local government)
Training vouchers for Flanders may be ordered online at the following address: www.vlaanderen.be/bea. Registration takes place using the company's VAT number. If the company is not subject to VAT, it may register using its name and address. The web application immediately consults the Graydon database and automatically sees whether the company in question is able to buy training vouchers. If the request is valid, then the company will receive a purchase order by e-mail bearing a unique customer number.
In order to benefit from this advantage, workers must be bound by an employment contract and employed on an operational site in the Flemish Region, be active in an appropriate sector and not have the legal structure of a non-profit organisation.
