Does my customer need to join a child benefit fund?

Anyone employing personnel needs to join a child benefit fund. Even if none of the employees has child dependents.

Joining a child benefit fund guarantees the correct and timely payment of child benefit to employees' children.

Exceptions: employees in the hospitality industry and in the diamond industry, domestic staff and artists have to join the State Service for Child Benefit themselves. There is a special fund for port workers.

When does my customer need to join?

Within 90 calendar days after hiring his first employee. If he lets this period expire? Then your customer will be automatically affiliated with the State Service for Child Benefit of Employees.

Changing funds is possible at the earliest after four years and after a notice of 30 calendar days. Have your customer joined the State Service for Child Benefit of Employees? Then he can give his notice at the end of the second year.

What are my customer’s duties?

Joining a fund: fill out the affiliation form and send a copy of the deed of incorporation of the company to the fund.

  • Notifying the performance of employees: In quarterly reports.
  • Notifying DMFA (Multifunctional Declaration) data: In the quarterly reports to the National Office for Social Security, the child benefit fund will find all the information required to pay correct child benefit.

How much does it cost to join a child benefit fund?

Nothing. Monthly social security payments will finance all the benefit.
