Do I need to join?

Anyone employing personnel needs to join a child benefit fund. Even if none of your employees has child dependents.

Joining a child benefit fund guarantees the correct and timely payment of child benefit to your employees' children.

Exceptions: employees in the hospitality industry and in the diamond industry, domestic staff and artists have to join the State Service for Child Benefit themselves. There is a special fund for port workers.

When do I need to join?

Within 90 calendar days after hiring your first employee. If you let this period expire? Then you will be automatically affiliated with the State Service for Child Benefit of Employees.

You can change funds at the earliest after four years and after a notice of 30 calendar days. Have you joined the State Service for Child Benefit of Employees? Then you can give your notice at the end of the second year.

What are my duties?

  • Joining a fund: You should fill out the affiliation form and send a copy of the deed of incorporation of your company to the fund.
  • Notifying the performance of your employees: In quarterly reports.
  • Notifying DMFA (Multifunctional Declaration) data: In the quarterly reports to the National Office for Social Security, the child benefit fund will find all the information required to pay correct child benefit.

How much does it cost to join a child benefit fund?

Nothing. Your monthly social security payments will finance all the benefit.
